A Classy Addition to the Gallery

Meet Lillian--my new gallery assistant. I asked her to share a bit about herself so that I could share it with you!
A few things about me. I’m an avid art lover and collector. I’m fanatical about design with purpose; artisanal beauty with function. When I visited Prague ages ago, the city of garnets and crystals (not unlike Idaho in that sense), I fell in love with the intricate detail for beauty in even the teeniest of their everydays - a window latch can be a piece of art, as can a trash receptacle - The little can actually CAN! And why on earth not? I tell myself that I can ’adopt’ yet another creative piece if it can perform a function and not just sit behind glass or be kept for ‘best’…BEST is NOW, and if I’m not admiring, using and properly appreciating something, I firmly believe in gifting or repurposing it for someone who can ‘better’ love it. My gifts to family and friends are always arts and culture related. That thing when you spot something and go ‘THAT is soooo (insert precious person here)’ - and when the occasion arises, then I wrap it in art too. From the paper and bows to the card, making it personal and a piece of ’love from me to you‘ (so much so, that each element can be displayed or reused).

I also make my own art - watercolor and acrylic, calligraphic and creative prose, all of which I’m hoping to get back to, much more now, so being here at Teascarlet around such stellar art, is just the inspiration I need to get those creative juices flowing. In varying degrees of success and failure, we truly need to lose that fear of having a go! ‘Just do it’ is actually a perfect mantra. Did you know that Nike is the Goddess of Victory? And branding is another passion, along with logo design. Such clever and emotive vehicles…
I have just had the pleasure and sheer joy of ‘babysitting’ Hannah’s groundbreaking Teascarlet Fine Art Gallery for a week, and I have 5 words to live by from my experience here:
PASSION, DIVE, POWER, HUMBLE, FREEDOM!
As I’m about to help with the gallery’s second anniversary, I can reflect proudly on being right here at the opening too, serving wine from my Heart Rock Wines decade, both just around the corner in life and location. I absolutely believe all arts, foods and finely crafted libations are a total ‘must have’, here in Beautiful Bonners Ferry!
