Intro to Oil Paint

Join talented local artist Kayla Wade to learn about the art of oil painting. 

Description from Kayla:

In this workshop we will learn the fundamentals of painting with oils. We’ll cover supplies, techniques, and the “rules” of oil painting, including painting mediums, solvents (& alternatives), clean up, dry time, and painting “fat over lean”—all with the goal of demystifying this wonderful, versatile medium. I promise it’s not as scary as it seems! The class will include handouts, demonstrations, and hands-on exploration, so students will leave with both technical and somatic knowledge.

This is a workshop for anyone who wants to explore painting with oils—all skill levels welcome. It is not a class on how to paint a picture, but rather a crash course on the technical aspects of the medium.
