A Night to Remember: Komski Takes Over the Gallery

Updated: 3 days ago

On November 22nd our gallery transformed—utterly and completely—into a world shaped by the imagination, scale, and intensity of artist Komski. What began as an opening reception quickly became something much bigger: a gathering, a celebration, and, honestly, a bit of a beautiful whirlwind.

We planned for a modest crowd. We stocked beer like we were being overly responsible adults. We thought, “No way we’ll need this much.” And then—about 60 people walked through the doors. More than double what we expected. The beer vanished in record time (thank you to everyone who helped with that mission… every cup was appreciated 😉). The room buzzed with conversation, curiosity, and genuine excitement.

Some guests even drove all the way up from Spokane, eager to support Komski in his home region—and that energy was felt. There was pride in the air. Connection. The kind of feeling you don’t get every day.

And then, of course, there was the work.

Komski brought six pieces in total—five installed throughout the gallery and one absolutely commanding the space from Hannah’s front windows. That window piece? Stunning. There’s no other word for it. Passersby stopped in their tracks. Guests circled back to it repeatedly. It became both beacon and finale.

Adding to the magic, three of the works were brand-new, created specifically for this event. The others were selections from his previous “Bloom to Death” show, offering a powerful bridge between past explorations and the evolution we witnessed right here, in real time. The scale of the pieces—larger-than-life, almost monumental—made the gallery feel overtaken in the best possible way. You didn’t just view them, you entered them.

Throughout the evening, guests had the chance to meet Komski himself—ask questions, hear stories, and witness the spark that fuels these works. Those conversations felt intimate, unguarded, and deeply human. You could sense how much this meant to him. To all of us, really.

If you were there—thank you. You helped create something unforgettable.

If you missed it—don’t worry. The exhibition remains on display, and trust us: these pieces demand to be seen in person.

Don’t miss your chance. The gallery may never feel quite like this again.
