Last week I took some time to create art with kids. I volunteered one afternoon at the elementary school and expanded on a previous lesson I taught based on Kandinsky's "Color Study Squares." We did another loosely-structured abstract project, and this time we used paint instead of pastels. When the kids saw the paints and brushes, they exclaimed, "ooh, do we really get to paint!?" I loved watching their creativity be sparked.
I hosted the second project at my gallery. It was a drop-in/by donation event where kids of all ages could create something special for Mother's Day. I provided the supplies, and they brought the joy and imagination.
Sharing access to art with kids is something I am passionate about! You can sponsor upcoming events here. Donations of any amount will go towards supplies and other associated costs. THANK YOU! This helps me continue to connect in a profound way within our community.
